IIE offers very high-quality English classes with a strong focus on communication and real English. The Intensive English Program (IEP) is a serious academic program for students who want to study long-term. An F-1 Student Visa is needed for the IEP. The Short Term English Program (STEP) is for students who want to study for three months or less. Speaking and active participation are encouraged in all courses. IIE has a strict English-only policy. Academic Track is offered for students preparing for American college with direct college entry possible.

IIE provides homestay in carefully selected friendly families, a student residence in Waikiki, a shared student house, and in condos and hotels.
