English Language Institute (ELI) is a friendly school in the heart of London. ELI London is quite small, so students receive individual attention - but they also benefit from the facilities of a larger organization because ELI is part of London City College and Schiller International University. Our language school is within walking distance of the major tourist attractions, museums, parks and shopping areas of London.

The general language courses include listening, speaking, pronunciation, role playing, reading, American idioms, grammar review and drills, writing skills development and practical English use during local excursions. The Professional Studies course can have topics like Marketing, Advertising, Hospitality Industry, History, Politics, IT, etc. It consits (like the Combination course) of the GE plus extra One-on-One Instruction.

Option 1: Host family. The most popular option. You live as a part of a British family and have breakfast and dinner with them. You have a single room and share the family bathroom. Travelling to ELI usually takes about 30 - 40 minutes by train. Option 2: Royal Waterloo House (ELI Campus). Students are accommodated in basic twin (or single) rooms with bunk beds and there are shared bathrooms on each corridor. You can book that option with a meal plan (3 meals a day) or without. There are no travel costs as you live and study in the same building.

Regular activities:  Weekly afternoon cultural activities e.g. sightseeing tours to London's famous sights, such as Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square and shopping centers
Possible activities:  Visits to important museums or famous companies and organizations e.g. Liffe Stock Exchange, the Bank of England or the Ford Motor Company
ELI students benefit from a variety of recreational and social activities. There are weekly afternoon cultural activities e.g. sightseeing tours to London's famous sights, such as Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square and shopping centers. Visits to important museums or famous companies and organizations such as the LIFFE Stock Exchange, the Bank of England or the Ford Motor Company can also be arranged. For an additional fee, a wide range of other activities and excursions is available through the Schiller International University cultural activity club during term time. On one-day or weekend excursions you can discover some of Britain's treasures, such as Windsor Castle, Oxford, Brighton, Stonehenge or Bath. We can also organize longer trips to Scotland or Ireland.
