International House World Organisation is a network of over one hundred and ten schools around the world, based in over 30 countries, all committed to the highest standards in education and training. Our goal as a non-profit organisation is to raise language education standards world-wide. All of our schools are independently owned and managed, but all adhere to the same codes of practice and follow rigorous inspections to ensure they all offer the same high quality education and customer service around the world. Because we believe that language learning takes place not only in classrooms, but also outside the classroom in the culture of the learners, we think creating a strong social ambience is of great importance. International House schools are centres of learning both inside and outside the classroom. The school in London has two separate premises; the elegant eighteenth-century building at 106 Piccadilly and the modern, spacious training centre just behind this in Yarmouth Place, where most of the training is delivered. We have responded to the increasingly high expectations of our students by providing excellent, modern facilities within the school, helping them to maximise their time spent studying in London.

London is a multi-cultural city, one of the largest business and financial centres in the world. The range of social activities is endless, and today the citiy really is alive 24 hours a day. Attending a course while immersed in an English-speaking environment, and away from the interruptions of business life, provides the opportunity to make more progress than at home. Our wide range of exciting activities is designed to help you make the most of your stay in London. There are plenty of opportunities to have fun, make new friends, improve your English and discover the UK - all at the same time! For many centuries, London has been a thriving centre of the performing arts. Today\'s incredible range of theatre, musicals, opera, ballet and concerts ensures that London is still the world\'s capital for live performance. Frequently, the IH Social Programme takes advantage of specially reduced group rates, so that you can see all the best shows without spending a fortune. If you would like to buy tickets that are not in this month\'s Social Programme, we invite you to take advantage of our computerised ticket booking system. This allows you to choose the date and price of the show you want to see and collect your ticket from the comfort of the Social Programme Office. Even the most dedicated Londoner needs to get away sometimes. With so many beautiful and fascinating places to discover, it\'s simply a matter of deciding which historic UK city to visit first. Every month, the International House Social Programme organises full day tours with professional guides and luxury coaches to places such as: Oxford, Cambridge, Salisbury & Stonehenge, Leeds Castle, The Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Canterbury & Dover Castle. There is also the possibility of attending regular 3 day tours to Scotland, Paris, Dublin & Amsterdam. In most months the Social Programme features a friendly in-school game of football for players of any level, and in the summer months we love to head off to the park to play volleyball for the afternoon. Additionally there are several fitness and leisure centres within short distance of International House which offer a range of sport and fitness choices including gym workouts, swimming, basketball, netball, aerobics, yoga, badminton, tennis, squash and much more.
