The Lewis School of Languages

The Lewis School of Languages has been providing Spanish courses since 1985. Our school is situated in one of the most attractive areas of the city and we pride ourselves on a providing a friendly but serious learning environment for our students. We have a small team of professional, experienced and highly qualified teachers and we are proud to see that our school is different and special in many ways. One of the highlights of the school is the place where it is situated, one of the most beautiful districts in the city. If you take a walk in the area around the school, you will notice that most people are local, not tourists, and so, unlike the centre of Barcelona, you really can practice your Spanish and integrate into the way of life. Our groups are small in order to create a very close relationship between teachers and students. We aim to offer the perfect place not only to study, but also to learn: pleasant air-conditioned classrooms, modern facilities, the latest teaching aids, etc.

Our school is in the district of Les Corts-Pedralbes, next to Barcelona University and 5 minutes from the Camp Nou, the Barcelona FC football stadium and museum. Just across the road you will find Barcelona's biggest department store, the Corte Inglés, and many other shops, restaurants and bars. We are right next to a metro station and in just 15 minutes you can be on the Ramblas in the historic city centre. And if you want to spend time on the beach during your stay, we are less than 10 minutes away from the main train station that will take you to Barcelona's nearby beach towns: Sitges, Castelldefels, etc.

The intensive course is 20 hours class per week. The classes are normally in the morning, from Monday to Friday, 4 hours a day. There is a 30 minute break between classes, when you can have a coffee, chat with your classmates, use the Internet in our computer room or simply sit in the sun in our garden. The semi-intensive course consists of 10 hours of class per week, from Monday to Thursday (2.5 hours per day) and students can choose between different timetables - either in the morning or in the afternoon. The Junior Spanish Summer course is 3 hours class per day. The lessons are lively, interesting and, above all, fun.

We arrange accommodation for our students during their stay in self-catering apartments, student residence or with local host families.

At the weekend we organise day-trips outside Barcelona to the Costa Brava, the mediaeval city of Girona, Montserrat, etc. Please note that the activity programme is for July and August. A reduced programme is available during the rest of the year.
