Colegio Maravillas

The school is located on the top floor of a modern building with a large sunshade terrace, 13 comfortable classrooms, all equipped with TV, video recorder, CD player, DVD and air conditioning. At the students’ disposal are our library with a wide selection of spanish and international books, and a multimedia room (also used for seminars and conferences). The school is in the town centre, within walking distance to the beaches. It has been completely renewed in 2001.

Benalmádena is a small coastal city in the heart of the COSTA DEL Sol, only a few kms. from the international airport and the city of Malaga. The town sits on a hill at the foot of the Mijas Mountains by the Mediterranean Sea. Originally a sleepy Andalusian fishing village with beautiful white washed houses, Benalmádena has developed into a lively and animated town that retains its old charm and character. Benalmadena offers a wide range of amenities for all ages: white sandy beaches, an amusement park, shopping centers, cinemas, a casino, a 18-hole golf greens and the popular Puerto Marina de Benalmadena with 978 mooring slips, a sailing school, an aquarium, a diving school and not to forget is its dazzling nightlife and live entertainment that makes Benalmadena one of the favourite meeting places for young people.

Our team of teachers has been carefully selected after considering academic qualifications, previous teaching experience and personalities. All our teachers are native speakers and university graduates with experience in teaching Spanish to foreigners. Our Teaching method allows students to develop the four basic skills: listening comprehension, speaking, reading and writing. Our students speak Spanish right from the very first day, using it in typical real-life situations: the basic syllabus is supplemented by special exercises, such as, role-play, situational dialogues and project work with the use of audio-visual facilities.

HOST FAMILIES: Most of our host-families live within walking distance of the school, others live at 10 to 15 minutes train / bus ride. We arrange the stay in carefully selected host-families on either a single room or shared basis with breakfast or half board (breakfast & dinner) Half board basis is recommended for stays longer than 2 weeks as Spanish families are not used to share their kitchens. Before a host-family joins Colegio Maravillas, the accommodation officer makes a very detailed inspection. A student can therefore be confident that his Spanish hosts will be fully briefed about what they are expected to provide. The host-family will provide the students with bed linens and bath towels. They will also wash the students’ clothing, once a week. SHARED APARTAMENTS:Independent comfortable apartments in Benalmadena, 10 to 15 minutes walking, fully furnished with complete kitchen and bathroom, to share with international students. No meals included. Double or single rooms. The school will choose a roommate for the students booking alone. Linen and towels are provided. APARTHOTEL: studio-apartments situated in a complex 10 minutes walking from the school, close to the beaches and to the town centre. Available all year round. Independent mini-apartments, furnished, with fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, terrace, weekly cleaning service, reception 24 hours and swimming-pool. Bed linen is provided but you should bring your own towels. Double or single room. (Double rooms are only available for 2 friends or 2 students wishing to share). No meals provided.

Our staff is always available to offer advice and help with arranging any activity that are of special interest to individual students: Jeep rallies, horseriding, paintball and much more!!
