LUTECE LANGUE was founded in 1997, in the centre of Paris at Châtelet-Les Halles. Since then, the school has been committed to offer TOP quality & personalised French courses for adults in MINI-groups of 3-6 students. The emphasis in classroom is placed on ORAL expressions, so that the student will be able to deal with various daily/professional situations in French, enjoy speaking French, and have confidence in speaking French. Our French teachers are all professional: enthusiastic, experienced, and highly qualified holding a university degree in teaching French as foreign language. LUTECE LANGUE is recognised by the French educational authority as private school for higher education, and by the Ministry of Labour as educational institute for companies’ continued professional trainings. Certificate LUTECE LANGUE is issued at the end of the course. Administration system is flexible. You can start the course any Monday and registration is possible for minimum 1 week. LUTECE LANGUE is situated in the very centre of Paris, at metro & RER Châtelet station in Paris 1st. The access is easy by metro, bus, and train from anywhere in Paris as well as from the suburbs of Paris. The school is located in a typical Parisian style building, entirely renewed in 2004, equipped with bright colourful classrooms. The Pompidou Centre and Le Forum Des Halles, a big commercial centre, are within a few steps from the school. Paris’ principal tourist places like the Louvre, the Marais, the Opéra, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Saint-Germaine, Quartier Latin, etc. are at the walking distance from the school.

Our teaching method is communicative approach based on discussions, roll-plays, practical exercises, etc. Our objective is to improve efficiently your ORAL communication skills in French during a limited period of time, and eventually to give you confidence in speaking in French. Naturally, the emphasis is placed on conversation in the classroom and you are expected to participate actively in class activities. French level tests and initial assessment take place before the courses starts so that you won’t miss the first day of the class. You will take a written French test when the registration is completed. Also, you will be requested to give us a ring for a short interview. According to the results of your tests, the school evaluates your French level and determines your class. The class schedule is informed to the student usually1-2 weeks prior to the start of the course.

Host families carefully selected by the school are located in Paris, approximately 30 minutes’ commuting from the school by metro and bus. They are used to receiving foreign students and are often English spoken, which can be convenient sometimes although you are expected to speak always in French. Possible options are “Bed & Breakfast” and “half-board (breakfast + 5 dinners per week)”. We recommend the “half-board” option if you look for having maximum interactions with the family, getting familiar with the French way of life, and practising French outside the school. Any conditions to be considered (diet, animal, allergy, area, etc.) should be informed at the time of booking. Residence halls are available for short stay. They are located in Paris 14th (Porte de Vincennes) and 13th (Porte d’Italie). Cafeteria is available. No kitchen facilities. Accommodation is provided in single room (with shower, toilette, telephone) with breakfast. Upon request, the school also reserves a hotel, studio and apartment which meets your needs and budget.

LUTECE LANGUE provides the students with various opportunities to get interactions with each other and practise French. ”Le gôuter LUTECE” takes place every Tuesday morning, where all the students of the school get together and enjoy chatting in French with chips and soft drinks. The students enjoy French cultural events like “Galette du Roi” in January (eat almond paste cakes), “Chandeleur” in February (eat crêpes), etc. The school regularly organizes cultural visits in the city of Paris: walking tours in the historical areas, visiting museums, going to famous cafés, cinemas, etc.
