Ecole PERL

PERL's building is a charming house with an inner courtyard and 13 classrooms, which gives the school a friendly and pleasant atmosphere. PERL is located in the 11th district, just in front of the famous Pere-Lachaise cemetery, and 10 minutes away from the trendy and multicultural Republique, Nation or Bastille places. PERL offers French programmes from 4h to 28h/week for students and adults from 17 years old, all year round (starting date any Monday!).

Ah, Paris! The place of dreams, excitement, magic. A chic European capital so often chosen as a weekend escape - but scratch the surface and you'll find it's much more than the picture-postcard Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe we all know and love. Bohemian Montmartre, Trendy Bastille, avant-garde Montparnasse, the high-brow Latin Quarter…each arrondissement tells a different story, local bistros and hidden bookshops as essential to filling the pages as the high heels and short skirts of the Moulin Rouge. After all, you never know when you're going to stumble across that little je ne sais quoi…

PERL's flexibility allows the student to build his own schedule depending on his level, expectations and specific needs. PERL's method is focused on both grammar and oral skills. Our teachers organize their courses with several books and interactive and up-to-date materials: audio and video documents, newpaper, web... General French includes Grammar: Conjugation, syntax, sequence of tenses; Oral & written comprehension; Oral expression: presentations, debates, role-playing, working session in small groups, spelling, pronunciation...; Written expression: introduction to essay, synopsis, press reviews...; Modern French: idioms from recent social and cultural events.

Your accommodation (in individual room) will be located in Paris, from 5 minutes walking to 30 minutes with the metro away from the school. You can choose the homestay option in bed & breakfast or half-board, to share the everyday life of your host family, to discover the French culture and traditions and, of course, to eat delicious French meals! You will spend an unforgettable time with this family, carefully choosen by PERL. If you are more independant, you can choose to stay in a student residence, but the meals are not included in the price. Your room will be furnished with a bed, a table, a chair, racks and a cupboard, whereas you will have the common kitchen, showers and toilets on each floor.

Our wide cultural programme offers everyday (in the morning or in the afternoon) an activity, taking place at PERL (conferences, parties, games, etc.) or outside the school (visits of museums, exhibitions, sightseeing in typical Parisian districts, bateaux-mouches, etc.). This enables the student to gain a better understanding of the French culture and history.
