Central location Nausicaa awaits you in the historic centre of Pizzo in close proximity to a sea promenade and several fine beaches. Just a few metres away from the school there are trattorias, ice-cream parlours, cafés and shops where you can test out and improve your language skills in an authentic language environment. The warm and hospitable locals will certainly make sure that you learn more than just "schoolboy Italian". The teaching takes place in an old Italian palazzo, with well lit rooms and in an atmospheric location overlooking a landscaped garden where lessons can be held upon request. The School is known for it's personal atmosphere, therefore, the total number ofparticipants is limíted to 20. The school is well equipped with modern facilities and excellent teaching material. Among other things, we possess an internet corner, a tv satellite and a film projection room

Looking for the perfect combination of language course, seaside holiday and cultural journey? Then Pizzo's the place for you. Surrounded by gently rolling hills, an emerald-green sea which nestles into innumerable small bays with beaches of fine, golden sand, and with the imposing sight of Mount Stromboli volcano, here you discover Calabria from its most beautiful side. Pizzo's immediate neighbours, such as Safó, Zambrone or Tropea, the "Pearls of Calabria", complete the picture. Pizzo's situation and glorious climate, with its long, warm summers was already appreciated by generations before us. Pizzo has preserved its charm over the ages. In the historical town centre, the castello Aragonese, built in 1495, the Chiesa di San Giorgio and Chiesa Di Piedigrotta, compete for your attention. The 17th Century townhouses, form the fitting backdrop to an atmospheric evening, for example, ending the day in one of the many pubs, pizzerias, trattorias or in one of the ice-cream parlours. And it's the perfect place to further improve your knowledge of Italian with the help of the friendly local residents. Pizzo is also famous for it's Tartufo, "the king of the ice-cream", which is prepared with a delicious mixture of chocolate, nuts and a dark chocolaty filling.

The classroom language is Italian. The teaching method follows the communicative-situational model as a matter of priority. Here, alongside reading and writing in particular, special emphasis is also placed on the promotion of oral expression and communicative competence, conversation and oral comprehension. The syntactical and grammatical structures taught in lessons will immediately be given practical illustration. The teaching materials are chosen by us and adapted to fit the different course levels. To make the teaching as lively and varied as possible, we also use film material, newspaper articles, cassette recordings, games and songs alongside more traditional teaching material. All participants receive a language diploma at the end of the course and if desired, additional certification of their participation. Duration of course: Monday - Friday, 9 am - 1 pm / 4 pm - 8 pm Duration of lessons: 50 minutes Should you have particular time or programme-related requests, we also offer you individual courses. Further, we can fully cater for your needs and requirements with a personal, one-to-one language course. Therefore, the number of lessons can be altered accordingly. Personal tuition begins on the day you choose. The school also prepares students to continue their language certification at the University of Foreigners in Siena/Perugia in order to obtain an Italian language Certificate (CILS) which is a title recognized by the Italian government. Ask the school's secretary to choose the right level.

The school will be happy to arrange accommodation in a guesthouse, Italian family or in a holiday apartment. All the accommodation offered is within close walking distance of the school. Bed sheets will be provided.

Right nearby, there are wonderful beaches and coves with white sand and beautifully clear sea: Capo Vaticano, Tropea, Zambrone, Punta Safò. The region offers you lots of opportunities for cultural leisure activities and sport. You can also choose from a wide range of fascinating excursions organised by Nausicaa. Destinations include museums and monuments over the whole of Calabria and Sicilly, as well as to the Aeolean Islands, Taormina with its Greek theatre, to the famous trading town of Messina, or to the archeological excavations in Tindari. The range of sports activities on offer is virtually limitless, from diving courses and paragliding to "nature trips" by trekking or mountain bike.
