The ENGLISH COLLEGE of ADELAIDE

The English College of Adelaide offers a rich program of academic, general and special interest English language courses. We have the flexibility to respond quickly to student needs and we are able to offer the highest level of personal care and support, in a friendly, "family-like" environment. Our teachers are highly qualified, have worked both in Australia and overseas, and understand the diverse cultural needs of the students. Our college has class sizes of an average of 10 students, to allow teachers to give individual attention to each student.

LOCATION Adelaide is a clean, safe city with a comfortable lifestyle. The cost of living is lower than other cities in Australia and recreational, cultural and educational facilities are all within easy reach. Our college is centrally located in the centre of Adelaide, convenient for all forms of public transport. Full-time students are eligible for a student card which gives them a 50% concession on public transport tickets, and also discounts on the cinema and other services.

COURSES Accredited courses include General English from Beginner to Advanced levels and a range of English for Special Purposes courses including English for Academic Purposes, Business English, English for Tourism and English for Hospitality. Students may also select from an Elective program, depending on interest and career goals. Electives include TOEIC, TOEFL and IELTS Preparation and High School Preparation. ECA has an excellent record in preparing students for examinations which will gain them entry to the tertiary institution of their choice, anywhere in Australia. ECA graduates are currently studying in universities in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Queensland, vocational institutions and high schools.

ACCOMODATION The college has an accommodation service. Our Accommodation Officer can organize homestay, share or dormitory accommodation. Your specific needs and requests can be accomodated as we have many different types of accomodation and families.

We also offer a curriculum combining formal classroom learning with informal interaction with Australians and the environment. These real life experiences are organised and run by ECA teachers for ECA students and include outback tours, camping trips, environmental tours, coastal excursions and a range of sporting activities. NB: Additional costs apply for some activities.
