Since our foundation in 1957 our continual goal has been to provide high quality English language courses for teenagers and adults of all ages at affordable prices. We think that our experience has given us an unbeatable formula for teaching English at all levels and to all abilities. We are open all the year round. We know that the decision to come to England to study this difficult language is a very hard and expensive one. So many schools have beautiful brochures and all of them seem to say the same thing. However... The Regency School is different. Why?... because it is a Language Centre and 100 room School-Hotel in the same building where all the students meet during evenings and weekend when other schools are closes. Ramsgate is as English as fish and chips and has everything you could expect from a British seaside resort, and more. Many south coast resorts offer sandy beaches, scenic views, an exciting night life, an intresting old part to the town, a casino, pubs, hotels, department stores, cafes, shops, and amusement parks-most can offer some of the above attractions very few can offer them all. Ramsgate is one of the very few. We have wonderful beaches, a modern and an old town catering for all tastes and, being a renowned port town, we have excellent connections with France and Belgium for those weekend day trips. Ramsgate is just 100 minutes from the heart of London and just 30 minutes from all the grandeur and history of Canterbury where Saint Thomas a Beckett was murdered in the cathedral by the King`s men in the twelfth century. If your taste is more for fun and relaxation then there is the `Dreamland` amusement park in nearby Margate. And if you ever become tired of town life then you can escape to the beautiful countryside of Kent, more popularly known as `the garden of England`. There are many picnic spots just a short train ride away from Ramsgate or, for the more adventurous, you can explore hiking paths across the Weald of Kent and the North Downs.

Prices indicated include 22,5 hours Lessons varying between high and low season (there is also an option of 15 hours per week), Accommodation and Full Board ONE-TO-ONE COURSES These courses are offered to students who need a very intensive course designed to produce rapid improvement. We can design one-to-one programmes to provide individual tuition all day or for only part of the day, with the rest of the day spent taking part in one of our general English classes. BUSINESS ENGLISH COURSES We recognise that in the modern business world English is a vital tool. Our Business English courses aim to equip business people to negotiate, take part in meetings, make presentations, use the telephone, or write letters in English. ENGLISH FOR SPECIAL PURPOSES Courses can be arranged at the Regency to develop fluency and understanding in specialised fields such as medicine, law, journalism or computing. These will be designed according to the particular needs of the individual students, or groups of students.

The Regency offers all our students a unique combination of English language teaching and hotel or home-stay accommodation. We have a large number of friendly host families, all within 15 minutes walk. Younger students are advised to choose family accommodation. We are very proud that our school is housed in such a large and elegant Grade II listed building of the Regency Period (1820) facing the English Channel and dominating the cliff-tops of western Ramsgate. The facilities we provide in the school hotel are second to none. We have our own colour television room for those lazy afternoons and a table tennis room for the more energetic. And after a tense game what better way to cool off than having a swim in our very own heated swimming pool before having a sauna to soothe those tired muscles? For those students who want to catch up on some work before their next lesson there is a quiet room for private study and should you find studying a tiring business then you can always have a pleasant walk to clear your mind in the large garden area in front of the school, overlooking the sea.

Students on all our courses are encouraged to take part in our evening and weekend activities. We aim to have fun and give our students the opportunity to practise their English!
