Churchill House School of English Language

Churchill House is a quality English Language School in the beautiful and safe seaside town of Ramsgate. Churchill House is located in a quiet residential area less than 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The School is in an attractive nineteenth century square overlooking tennis courts and the harbour. The main buildings date from 1814 and although they have been completely modernised still retain their charm. Across the square is our Executive Centre with spacious, modem classrooms. Our facilities include a language laboratory, video rooms, bookshop, Individual Learning Centre (for extra study by yourself), our internet cafe with free e-mail, and a pleasant garden. Also across the square is our pub -The Churchill Tavern - and The Clubroom with a range of facilities including a self-service restaurant, disco, video and pool table. Churchill House is a medium sized school, neither so large that a student becomes merely a number, nor so small that good organisation and a wide range of teaching facilities and levels are impossible.There are usually students from around 40 different countries at the School and in a year we welcome between 60 to 70 different nationalities.

Ramsgate is located in the South East of England in the county of Kent -"the Garden of England" - famous for its apple and cherry orchards, green fields and pleasant rolling hills. Only 25 kilometres away is the famous cathedral city of Canterbury and all around are fascinating historical villages. Ramsgate is a picturesque seaside town with many fine old buildings, the colourful Royal Harbour and a population of 42,000. It is a busy port and shopping centre with a range of sports facilities in the town and surrounding area. Ramsgate is not a big city so you can enjoy a healthy stay free from the problems of city life. Peaceful and safe, it is an ideal centre for the serious student to study and relax. Ramsgate people still have time to stop and talk and the absence of too many other schools means that our foreign guests are still greeted warmly as friends.
