Domus Aurea - Centro di lingua e cultura italianaRom, Italien The Language School
At the Domus Aurea Centre learning Italian takes place in a cultural and historical framework that helps you learn about Rome and Italy through art, history and traditions.
The small number of students in each class (maximum 10) allows the teachers to dedicate time to each student individually, meeting their language needs.
The school is located in the heart of the city, between Via Nazionale and the Coliseum, just a short walk from the legendary Trevi Fountain and the eternal Roman Forum.
The Location
The school is located in the heart of Rome's historic centre, between Via Nazionale and the Coliseum, just a short walk from the legendary Trevi Fountain and the eternal Roman Forum. Via Palermo is parallel to Via Nazionale, the road which connects Piazza Venezia to Piazza della Repubblica, a short walk from the train station Termini.
The school is located on the first floor of a 19th century building.
The Course Offerings
All group courses include the following services and activities: entrance test, study materials, certificates, free internet access, welcome and farewell buffett, city tour, film club
Before starting a class students take both a written and an oral test to determine their level of Italian. At the end of the course a brief final test completes the evaluation process.
A Certificate of attendence recognized by the Italian Ministry of Public Instruction will be given to each student.
Accommodation
The school provides a service to help the students settle into apartments with other Italian students or in apartments where the owners provide a room with bathroom and use of the kitchen.
It is also possible to stay in a hotel, but generally the least expensive choice is an apartment or living with an Italian family.
The school guarantees help in booking the rooms. On request the school is able to provide certificates for Visa and resident permit for students.
Activities
At the Domus Aurea Centre, it is our belief that a balance must be found between language and civilization, and while language study is our primary concern, we do not take the cultural aspect associated with learning about Italy lightly.
Our students can take part in two activities a week free of charge: a guided tour of the city and a film in Italian.
In addition, to encourage complete integration, the school organizes conversation exchanges with native speakers, parties and conferences; and, especially in the summer months, the students are invited to participate in the extraordinary evenings in the open air to discover the “estate romana”, literally Roman Summer, a series of concerts, film festivals and “happenings” that takes place every summer in the Eternal City.
