The California School of Languages is located in downtown Santa Monica just three blocks (300m) from the beach and half a block from the famous Third Street Promenade. You can walk to the beach in just a couple of minutes or stroll down on Third Street discovering street artists performing and having a café at one of the many outdoor terraces. The school is on the top level of a three-story office building and has plenty of natural light with windows looking over Wilshire Blvd. and downtown Santa Monica. Our premises are new and modern. All of our classrooms are air-conditioned and have high speed internet access as well as free wireless internet access. You can relax in our student lounge area and enjoy daily newspapers, complimentary fresh espresso coffee or tea. Here at the California School of Languages we believe in the combination of quality teaching, an innovative approach to encourage student’s participation and an exciting outside-of-class program to strengthen and practice the skills learned in class. Our teaching philosophy and experience with students at different levels and from all over the globe have resulted in teaching methods that optimize your learning results. All courses have been designed to meet the social and language needs of individual students. Because we offer a variety of programs, students can choose the course that best fits their language level and also fits the amount of time the students are going to spend in Santa Monica. All of our programs have a maximum of 10 students per class, and because of this small class size, students can be more active in the learning activities. "English-only" is strictly enforced in and outside the classroom.

CSL gives special attention to the quality of our accommodation options and cares about each student's individual needs for a customized accommodation. It is very important that before starting your course you feel comfortable. The accommodation is an important part of your learning environment that we take very seriously. Homestay in Los Angeles There is no better way to experience the American way of life than staying with locals. Not only will you be able to practice your English with native speakers in a relaxed environment, but you will also discover the culture and customs of your American hosts. Homestay is our most popular accommodation option at CSL. Homestay “families” can be traditional families with children but also a single woman, young or older couple with or without children living at home. Please make sure to list any preferences you might have when you send your application. Homestays can be located between 30 – 50 minutes from the school by public transportation. There is also host families living closer to the school. Early bookings are recommended. Standard Student Residence in Santa Monica We recommend this option for students looking for a basic student accommodation. Located about 20‐30 min. by bike/ bus from the school. To socialize and practice your English outside of the classroom is essential for your learning progress. In Santa Monica you have unlimited possibilities to spend your time after class going on excursions, visiting the many sights that greater Los Angeles has to offer or to just go to the beach. We offer a rich activity program here at CSL and you can sign up for a variety of different activities.
