EC Malta

EC Malta offers English language courses to international students of all ages. With students from over 45 countries, EC offers English courses in Malta and the UK, where we have schools located in London, Brighton and Cambridge and in Cape Town. EC courses include a range of courses including Business English, General English, Intensive English and Cambridge and IELTS exam preparation courses. We also offer a EC Summer Camp for students ages 8-13 to learn English in both Malta and in Cambridge. For Junior students (14-18) we have English language programmes located both in Brighton and in Malta. We look forward to welcoming you to England, Malta and EC. The school in Malta was built in 2001 and consists of two blocks on opposite sides of the street and has a total of 59 classrooms, of which 13 are designed for small groups and or private tuition. All classrooms are comfortable, bright and fully air-conditioned. School facilities include a self-access centre which includes TV, video, internet and e-mail facilities as well as large roof-terraces on both school blocks. There are several cafes on the ground floor of the school buildings and the St. Julians bus terminus is conveniently located nearby. All EC students have access to the EC Beach Club including use of pool, beach beds, umbrellas and showers as well as a free membership at a fitness centre, both only a few minutes' walk away from the school.

EC Malta is located in St. Julians, originally a quaint fishing village built around a small bay. Although nowadays St. Julians is a major tourist resort it has retained a lot of its charm and still harbours traditional colourful fishing boats. St. Julians provides a wide range of accommodation from host families to 5-star hotels, some of Malta's best restaurants and is also Malta's entertainment capital with numerous bars, night-clubs, shops, cinemas, a casino, shopping centre and bowling alley all within a few minutes walk from the school.

Included in the course price: 2 guided half day tours of Valletta & the Three Cities (in summer these tours are replaced with a sailing cruise), welcome dinner, gym membership, airport transfers, internet & e-mail access. We offer a wide variety of courses, most of which start every Monday all year round so you can choose your own start and end dates. You can also combine different schools during your study. Your academic records transfer with you so that your teacher at the second destination will know the progress you have made at the first destination. If you are an Academic Year student, we even include a return flight ticket between UK and Malta.

The best way to practise your English and learn more about the traditions and way of life in the country where you are studying is to stay with a family. This also gives you plenty of opportunity to practise the language outside the classroom in an English speaking environment. EC's host families are all chosen for their caring attitude to our students. We visit all our families to ensure that they are warm, comfortable and friendly places to return to after a day at school. Your host family will provide you with breakfast and dinner throughout your stay. You can choose to stay in a single room or in a twin room which you will share with another student.

Executive Homestay: For the discerning student, EC Malta offers an executive homestay. An executive homestay offers you the possibility to experience family life with the added advantage of your own private room and private bathroom. Our executive host families live in larger houses or apartments of an above average standard. As only a limited number of executive families are available, early bookings are a must.

Residence: We offer a number of self-catering residences which are an excellent alternative for students who are looking for good value for money, want more independence and enjoy socialising with other students from school. At the White House you can choose between a single or a shared room. In the apartments, you can choose to book your own bed room or to share it with another student of the same gender but you will always share the apartment with other students who will occupy the other bed room/s in the apartment. All the residences are equipped with cooking and laundry facilities and they are all situated within short walking distance of the school and the EC Beach Club as well as all the facilities St. Julians has to offer, such as shopping, entertainment and an excellent nightlife. In all residences you can choose to stay in a single or a twin room. Bed linen and towels are provided but you should bring your own beach towels. EC Malta's Junior Programme offers two accommodation options: homestay or residential accommodation.

The following activities are included in the package: Three Cities Half Day Tour (Low Season), Valletta Half Day Tour (Low Season), Comino by night on the M/S Hera (High Season). We also offer a wide range of optional tours to suit all areas of interest. Sample of optional half/full day excursions available: Winary tour, Blue Grotto, Mdina tour, full day Gozo & Sicily tours. A welcome dinner and the EC beach Lido membership is also included in the price.
