AG Mate Academy is an Australian English College situated in Circular Quay, in the heart of Sydney. It is only a few minutes walk from the beautiful Sydney Opera House and the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Courses:

AG Mate Academy offers General English from Beginner to Advanced. English for Academic Purposes is also offered for students for Upper Intermediate level and above. This course is tailored for students who wish to further their education by enrolling into tertiary studies. AG Mate Academy also offers English for High School Preparation at 4 levels so that students who do not have 5.5 IELTS or equivalent can progress from Elementary level to Upper Intermediate at which time they would be able to enter Year 11.

In the morning there are three hours of lessons taught across six levels from Beginner to Advanced. Lessons consist of Reading, Writing, Grammar, Vocabulary, Listening and Speaking. At the end of each week there is a test - if the student passes he will progress to the next level. In the afternoon there are two hours of lessons, and students may choose one of three options (Conversational English, Business English or Examination Preparation)

Homestay: Students can stay with an Australian family and experience the Australian culture and practise English. Staying with a Homestay family offers room, breakfast and dinner, plus lunch on Saturday and Sunday for A$220 per week. AG Mate House: AG Mate Academy has its own house for students to share. AG Mate House is available for its students, and has singles and doubles. It's conviently located near public transport and is within 30 minutes of the college. Fridge, microwave oven and coffee-tea making facilities are also available to the residents. Furniture, bed linen, eletricity, gas and water are included.

Activities

Regular activities:

Tours to the Hunter Valley Wineries, Snowfields, Blue Mountains, Canberra and many other places. Students are taken regularly to the Sydney Tower, the Opera House, Sydney Aquarium, various museums and art galleries, The Rocks and beaches such as Bondi, Watson’s Bay and Manly. They regularly go to Karaoke, the Hard Rock Café and they can join staff on Friday nights at the nearby pubs. Golf Days, Riding Bikes in Centennial Park, Soccer and Volley Ball competitions are also organised. Twice a year AG Mate Academy organises a Culture Day for students. Students cook a dish for their country and also perform an act that depicts their culture.
