Homestay Our families are very good. We use families who take a genuine joy and interest in doing Homestay and are happy to have students in their homes. We will place you in a house with a Canadian family, no more than 45 minutes from inlingua, and who speak English as their native language. We can guarantee that there will be no more students who speak your same language. You can enjoy meals at home because you will be one of the family members. Rooming: Private Rooms in houses outside of the downtown area are also available. This is an excellent option if you are looking for more privacy or those who wish to live with other Canadians without the constraints of Homestay. Rooms are available in several areas of the city, most within 30 minutes of downtown. Rooms may be shared or single usually with a communal kitchen area for food preparation, a living room and either a shared or private washroom. This option does not include meals / boar and its price is lower than Homestay. Students must make a budget for food preparation and eating out in restaurants.

Fun, fun, fun. Our activities take place every day of the week and will give you many opportunities to make friends, see the city, practice sports, learn about Vancouver's cultural life and practice your English outside the school. Understanding the culture and recreation of English speakers is essential to the global training process of learning English. inlingua offers extensive activities centered on the language, culture and beauty of Canada and British Columbia. Activities take place several times a week and range from Ski-trips to the many mountains and resorts around Vancouver to dance parties, mountaineering, white water rafting and free movies every day at the school. Hard work is supplemented with hard play. Our Activities Coordinator and teachers take part in the different activities, making their presence another incentive for students to attend. Often attendance to our events exceeds our calculations: 150 people attending one of our parties at the school, 40 students and 8 teachers doing Curling (Canadian Ice Sport) on the ice, 35 students and 3 teachers having dinner in a Korean Restaurant, over 100 students and 14 teachers in the inlingua Olympics at the beach, etc, etc, etc. We play DVD or videos everyday on our Television, making this free activity another opportunity to improve our students' English by listening and reading the subtitles (close captioned). All inlingua teachers understand the importance of making students' courses enjoyable. On Fridays, students agree on a place to go for their last Semi Private Lesson of the week. Favorite places are Coffee Shops and if weather permits parks are also a must. Sports are very important for our students. In winter some of the sports our students practice are ski and snowboard, ice skating and curling. In spring the choices are rollerblading, yoga, basketball and indoor soccer. In summer swimming, outdoor soccer, basketball and volleyball are practiced. And in fall indoor soccer, yoga and basketball are the best options. Attendance to games at coliseums and stadiums takes place every month. Hockey games, Lacrosse games, Formula Cart races, Soccer, etc. Theatre Plays and Movies during the seasons and festivals are a great way for students to mix with Canadians and immerse themselves in the language and the culture. Weekend Trips to nearby cities like Victoria, Whistler, Seattle or The Rocky Mountains are always possible. We coordinate these tours with professional companies that ensure students get a nice experience at an affordable price.
