VanWest College’s homestay program allows students to experience real social integration into a Canadian family lifestyle, while also providing the opportunity to practice English outside of school. VanWest College has over 10 years of experience in providing safe, comfortable and friendly host families. Students are placed in English speaking homes located about 20-30 minutes from the school with convenient public transportation nearby. All homestay families are interviewed, visited, required to supply references, and evaluated by the VanWest College. Our Homestay Coordinator is available on-site to provide assistance to students.

OVERVIEW: VanWest College has an activity coordinator that will organize group activities and/or help individual students with their own personal activity plans. We organize a variety of activities to suit people of all nationalities. We speak English only at all activities, which helps to improve your English. SCHOOL CLUBS: Free Conversation Club, Soccer, International Food and Dining, and others. SCHOOL EVENTS: School events are organized regularly to bring students together. Such events include: guest speakers, special dinners, monthly parties, boat cruises, club nights, NHL games, Cultural Days, barbecue dinners on the beach, weekend excursions, etc. SUMMER AT VANWEST: You can explore British Columbia’s wineries, play tennis, golf, go camping, kayaking, white water rafting, fishing and mountain biking in the beautiful natural settings that have made Canada famous. WINTER AT VANWEST COLLEGE: To enjoy world-class skiing and snowboarding, join our many winter activities. Trips to local mountains (half-hour from Vancouver) are available each week, as well as tours to famous resorts like Whistler / Blackcomb, Big White, Silverstar and SunPeaks. We also offer Learn-to-Ski / Snowboard packages, snowshoe hiking and snowmobile fun.
