BBSI specialises in English language training and provides high quality, vocational language courses for students and professionals, in Management, Marketing, Finance, Tourism, IT, Science & Technology, Law, Media Studies and Work Placements; as well as tailored courses for corporate and public-sector clients, particularly in fields of military and government, police and internal security and trade and commerce. As well as offering Certificate, Higher-Certificate, Diploma and Foundation programmes, BBSI also offers shorter summer courses.

The relaxed, friendly and personal atmosphere at BBSI provides a central facility in Bournemouth, where students can base both the academic and social structures of their lives in England. A sea-side holiday resort, regional centre for commerce, and a university town, Bournemouth is sophisticated and vibrant; it is also a unique place in which to live and study throughout the year. The Town offers a wide range of quality entertainment and shopping to cater for all tastes, within 2 hours of London, and with easy access to many regional cultural features. Bournemouth boasts 11 km of sandy beaches, which are designated as Blue Flag beaches for their high quality of cleanliness. Historical interest is found in the heighbouring towns of Poole and Christchurch. Close to Bournemouth are some outstanding areas of natural beauty, including the Jurrassic Coast (a World Heritage Site), the New Forest and Poole Harbour, the second largest natural harbour in the world.

In General English we teach all levels from Elementary to Advanced throughout the year. These courses are available in formats of 20, 24 and 30 lessons per week. Specialised courses run in 4 terms of 12 weeks each per year. A certificate is 1 term of study, a higher certificate is 2 terms of study, and a diploma is 3 terms of study. These specialised courses are available either as certificate / diploma courses, or as university foundation courses, and students can start on 4 different start dates each year. Course Package. Both standard and executive host-family accommodation is available on a part-board basis, ie breakfast and dinner Monday to Friday and all meals at weekends. Alternatively, if you prefer, we also provide standard host-family accommodation on a bed & breakfast or self-catering basis, and executive host-family accommodation on a bed & breakfast basis. Most families live within a range of 15 to 25 minutes travelling time of the school. We provide information for students who wish to stay in appartments or guest houses, and we provide a hotel booking service. Welfare staff are on hand throughout normal school opening hours, and emergency staff are contactable at weekends and overnight.

All activities are on a voluntary basis. there is a wide variety of activities. Excursions are generally organised to cities of interest which are not too distant. Parties are organised to welcome and say farewell to students. These parties are usually held in an enclosed area of a pub, with food and drink supplied free. Some activities, such as free conversation, may be held in the lounge area of a book shop, and film nights and barbeques may be held in the school.
