ATC Language and Travel

ATC Language & Travel is situated on the seafront in Bray. The building, Dunluice House, is a beautifully restored Victorian residence built in 1850. Completely refurbished and upgraded, Dunluice House combines Victorian elegance with modern comforts. The classrooms are bright and spacious and the rooms at the front of the school enjoy a magnificent view of Dublin bay

Bray, now regarded as a suburb of Dublin, is located 10 kilometers south of Dublin at the gateway to Wicklow, 'The Garden of Ireland'. You can enjoy all the splendor of Wicklow and yet you are only a 35 minute DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) ride away from Dublin city centre. Bray offers a wide range of shopping facilities and pubs together with a few noteworthy restaurants. Bray is famous for its walks, with the promenade and Bray Head being favourites. Horse riding, golf and sea angling are available locally. There is literally something for everybody in Bray.

Standard and Intensive Courses are available at ATC on a year round basis. They combine English tuition with an optional social programme. These courses are designed for students whose main priority is to improve their competence and confidence in using the language. Key features of these courses: Oral - Aural Communicative teaching methodologies Vocabulary, grammar and topical areas relevant to student needs Integration of the four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) of language learning when and where appropriate Access to state of the art computer laboratory to further enhance and integrate the learning process. Fully qualified and experienced EFL teachers available on all courses to advise students on their study programme and to monitor progress.

Most students choose to stay with a host family. All the families are inspected and carefully selected by our accommodation officer. Accommodation is arranged on a bed, breakfast and dinner basis (Monday-Friday), with full board for the weekend. During the months from October until May, students are usually accommodated in single rooms. In the summer months there is a supplement (see our tariffs) for single rooms. They cannot be guaranteed for late bookings. Located only 50 metres from the school the student residence provides twin and three bedded rooms with en-suite bathrooms for our students. There is a sitting room, breakfast room, private garden and self-catering area available to the students. During July and August breakfast is included. ATC use a wide range of guest houses, bed and breakfasts, hostels and hotel accommodation within walking distance of the school.

An ongoing social, recreational and cultural programme is available to all our students subject to certain terms and conditions. In addition to that a wide range of optional sporting and leisure facilities are available locally.
