We are dedicated to providing the highest quality intensive English courses where the emphasis is on com-munication. Burlington, a city of 173 000 people, is a wonderful place to stay and study English. It is a very safe area with a high standard of living. We are a small and friendly language centre within walking distance of the lake, park and prom-enade, the beach, a major shopping mall, restaurants and pubs, and the bus and train station. It is less than one hour to Toronto or Niagara Falls by train or car.

A typical day would be ESL class from 09:00 to 12:40, lunch, class (with 25 hour programs) or self-study in the afternoon, use the free Internet, or enjoy local attractions. The main focus of our courses is communication so you can effectively use and increase your English language skills in a wide variety of situations.

Our host families are carefully chosen by our staff who visit the family and view your room and facilities. Many of our homes are within walking distance of the centre. You will have a comfortable room and live as one of the family with breakfast and dinner included every day. Our executive homestay includes a large room for single occupancy with coffee maker, TV, wireless internet access and private bathroom. Hotels, apartments, and guest houses are available. We will assist you with your reservation.

Activities

Regular activities:  We organize optional social activities for our students such as movie nights, potluck lunches, beach days, bowling, karaoke, visiting local pubs and discos (19+), picnics, and barbecues. Excursions to Niagara Falls, the Toronto Zoo, The CN Tower, nature parks, museums, and many other attractions are available at reasonable prices with a teacher to guide you! We have a large video and book library for your use and lots of local and tourist information.
Possible activities:  LOCAL AREA There are a YMCA and other fitness centres in the area where you can exercise or swim. In winter we have ice skating and ski excursions. The beach and promenade as well as a major shopping mall are just minutes walk from the school. The train to Toronto runs every hour and the station is a 20-minute walk (5 min. bus ride) from the school. LONGER TRIPS Our staff will also be happy to help you plan a guided or self-guided trip to Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, New York or anywhere else you would like to go!
Depending on the time of year, the length of your stay and your preferences, your excursions and activities could include: the CN Tower, Niagara Falls, Crawford Lake Indian Village, Chinatown, nature parks, Canada's Wonderland, Ontario Place, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Science Centre, The Royal Ontario Museum, large shopping malls, outlet malls, the beach, movies, historic sites, skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, hiking, picnics and barbecues.
