Melkart, the school of friends has been around for ten years and from the moment you join us, our friendly atmosphere will allow you to instantly become part of our community Our primary aim is to motivate our students, and we achieve this through our excellent teaching method. Our extra curricular activities enable students to enjoy learning. These include: BBQ´s on the beach, excursions, flamenco, concerts and exchange programmes. Melkart is set in a traditional Spanish environment. The school itself is a typical Andalusian house of 1856 which is situated in the old town of Cádiz, a 3,000 year old city surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean.

Cádiz is not only the oldest city in the Western Europe, but it is also the most southern city. It is situated on the Bay of Cádiz and surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. It is united to the rest of the Peninsula by a narrow isthmus. Cádiz is one of the eight provinces that form the Region of Andalucía. The coasts of the province of Cádiz run along 260 km. and have countless beaches of fine, white sand. Its climate is mild. The average temperature is 17.6ºC. Cádiz is a city with a long history. It was founded by the Phoenicians in the year 1.100 B.C., it was occupied by Carthaginians, Romans, Visigoths and Muslims and it was an important port for the discovery of America. Nowadays, Cádiz is a city with a University flair and its people are welcoming and friendly. The old city, considered to be a historic monument, is partially surrounded by walls. Its most important monuments are the Cathedral, the Church of Santa Cruz, the Castles of Santa Catalina and San Sebastián and the Puertas de Tierra (the old gate of the city).

Shared flat You can share an apartment with spaniards or other students from Melkart. All of the apartments are close to the school, no more than 30 min. by foot. You can choose between individual room or double room. The Prices includes the water, electricity and gas. All of the apartments are completely equiped with: kitchen, washer, refrigerator, utensils for the kitchen, etc.. You only need to bring your own sheets and towels. Spanish family (Half board or full board) These families have been carefully chosen. This is the most natural way we can offer for the student to experience the Spanish way of life and customs. Half board - includes accommodation, breakfast, dinner and laundry services. Full board - includes accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner and laundry services. In the Spanish family you also have the possibility to choose between individual room or double room. Hotel, Hostel or other accommodation The School will advice those students who require other types of accommodation (hotel, youth hostel Casa Caracol or other accommodation). Note: The check in will be after 15.00h and the check out before 12:00h.
