PROYECTO ESPAÑOL is a language school, specialized in Spanish for foreigners, with academies in Alicante, Barcelona, Granada and Madrid. Our goal is to combine teaching the Spanish language and culture with fulfilling your holiday expectations at favourable prices. Our main tasks are offering professional, methodologically sound language instruction, as well as promoting the direct personal contact of each individual to the Spanish culture. In addition to numerous leisure time activities, our free Language Exchange invites you to also get to know Spain outside of the classroom. Social behavior patterns and manners, colloquialisms and "street slang" are experienced firsthand. Our schools in Alicante and Granada are accredited by the "Instituto Cervantes" and accepted by CSN to receive students with Swedish state funded loans and grants to study abroad. And our courses with 30 hours per week are recognized as "Bildungsurlaub" in Germany (Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Hessen, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Rheinland-Pflalz). Our installations are located in the centre of the cities. The students have free access to Internet and a library with Spanish literature at their disposal.

Alicante is located in the south-east of the Iberian Peninsula, directly on the Costa Blanca – one of the most beautiful Spanish coasts. The Romans named the city "Lucentum", city of light, and captured the character of this radiant palm-lined city facing the sea, which enjoys an extremely pleasant climate. A hectic pace is unknown here and the "Siesta" is still taken seriously. People relax along the beautiful boulevards and promenade to enjoy a coffee, a Horchata (almond milk), or a Granizado (iced lime drink). Although Alicante is the heart of tourism on the Costa Blanca, it banished the tourism industry from its gates and retained its charm as a Spanish university city Therefore, the night-life is influenced by students who keep the countless bars in the old town and harbour area alive until daybreak. Despite its 280,000 inhabitants, Alicante is a village in which almost everything is accessible by foot, and acquaintances often cross paths. Stylish boulevards, the modern yacht port, the picturesque and architectonically interesting old town quarter, modern shopping districts, and the palm-lined sandy beaches provide a lot of variety and remain in visitor’s memories for years to come.

In order to ensure effective instruction and long-term learning success, we apply modern teaching methods that are oriented toward the interests and capabilities of the students. Our teachers are pedagogically-didactically trained native speakers with a broad repertoire of teaching and learning techniques. The necessary material (grammar, vocabulary, etc.) is taught in a diverse and varied fashion. Theoretical knowledge is applied regularly in practical areas through listening and speaking exercises, conversation exercises, discussions, and role-playing. The program is rounded out by the selected use of media, which makes the class an unusually "exciting" experience, in which one learns not only how to speak Spanish, but also how to think and feel it. In order to foster the communication abilities of each individual, it is also possible to expand the course program through individual instruction or the Language Exchange. In addition, Spanish videos and literature are also available to all participants.

Our facilities, apartments and host-families are located in the centre of Alicante. That means nearly everything can be reached by foot in less than 30 minutes, as well the beach, the commercial centre and the night-life area! We can offer accommodation either in a family or in an apartment. The apartments are shared with 2-4 other students and fully equipped with kitchen, bath, and living room. The students provide for themselves. In a family they have the possibility to strengthen their Spanish in a family atmosphere and experience the Spanish culture in close contact. For those who want to stay in a hotel, we will gladly help with finding and booking a room. “Official change“ in the accommodations is always Saturdays. In case of an apartment we deposit the keys in a place where the student can pick it up at any hour during the whole weekend. If the student arrives before Saturday there might be a possibility to get in before if the room is free. The school can’t confirm availability until 2 days before. If the place is not available before Saturday, it’s no Problem to find as well a hotel at short notice. The same refers to the departure on Sunday or later.

In order to make the nature, life, and culture around Alicante and Granada more accessible, we offer numerous excursions and activities. We also accept suggestions and organize excursions and trips spontaneously. We offer excursions to places of interest in and around Alicante and Granada. Excursions outside the cities that involve any costs have to be paid by the students (10 to 20 EUROS). Activities like certain excursions inside the city, welcome party, language exchange or video afternoons are free of charge. Furthermore we have special agreements for our students with several institutions like fitness club, sailing and paragliding school, diving centre ..., to get discounts.
