Group 20 class hours per week The Group Course offers language instruction in small, dynamic groups for four hours per day. The maximum number of students in BridgeBrazil Portuguese classes is six. We pride ourselves on our ability to fine-tune the formation of group classes according to the level of the students studying with us. Group Plus 30 class hours per week The Group+ Course consists of four hours per day of the Group Course plus two hours per day of private lessons. This popular program gives you the best of both worlds: the interaction of a group class with the focus and efficiency of a private class. Private 4 20 class hours per week Private lessons are a very effective way to learn a foreign language. The one-on-one approach allows you to learn at your own pace as well as focus on your individual language needs. In a private class, you can concentrate on certain grammar points or on specific vocabulary that you may need. Private 4 consists of four hours per day of private lessons. Private 6 30 class hours per week The Private 6 Course takes the same approach as Private 4, but increases class time to six hours per day of private lessons. Immersion 40 class hours per week Immersion is the most intensive and effective course we offer. It consists of eight hours per day of private lessons, which includes lunch with your teacher. For years, Immersion has been our most popular program with executives and professionals who want to learn a lot in a short period of time. With an Immersion Course, you can super charge your language training, learning in weeks what would normally take a year or more. CLASS SCHEDULE Group & Private 4: 08:30 AM – 12:30 PM Group+: Group: 08:30 AM – 12:30 PM Private: 1:30 – 3:30 PM Private 6: 08:30 AM – 11:30 PM and 1:00 – 4:00 PM Immersion: 08:30 AM – 4:30 PM Please note that if you have registered for a Group course of 20 hours per week, the school may reduce your class hours to 15 per week if there are only three or fewer students at your level.

Host Families We highly recommend that BridgeBrazil students stay with a local family during their course. It is a great way to practice your Portuguese skills outside the classroom and to learn more about the country’s culture, people, and cuisine. Homestays allow you to fully immerse yourself in the study abroad experience and can be an integral part of your language learning. Hotels and Apart-Hotels Hotels typically offer more amenities and privacy and are recommended for students who prefer more luxurious lodging or who may have guests. We work with a number of hotels and would be happy to help you find one. These hotels include a private bathroom and cleaning service, and laundry service is typically available. In hotels and apart-hotels, meals are generally not included, with the exception of breakfast in some locations. Apart-hotels also include a small kitchenette and living area.

Activities

Regular activities:  Every week, you are invited to learn more about Brazilian culture by attending a lecture given by a Portuguese teacher. Topics rotate and include the Brazilian economy, contemporary literature, politics, immigration, history, religion, and cuisine. You can also take advantage of the chance to practice your Portuguese with a native Brazilian, as the school arranges weekly interviews with local residents.
Possible activities:  Sugar Loaf Corcovado Museum of Contemporary Art Floklore Museum National History Museum Maracana Football Stadium and others!
For those who want to discover this wonderful city while practicing their Portuguese, we provide afternoon excursions to some of the most beautiful places in Rio. Excursions are offered as a courtesy (provided a minimum number of students sign up), but students are expected to pay for their own transportation and entrance fees. All excursions are led by a Portuguese instructor. Some of the excursions we offer are described below. We invite you to participate in as many as possible to truly make the most of your time in Brazil!
