ELS/Denver is located on the Johnson & Wales University's (JWU) beautiful and historic campus in a residential neighborhood just 10 minutes from downtown Denver. Known as a vibrant, cosmopolitan area with more than two million people, Denver is situated against the backdrop of the spectacular Rocky Mountains. In the summer, students may choose from a variety of Rocky Mountain activities including, hiking, horseback riding, camping, rock-climbing and white-water rafting. Students can enjoy winter sports such as skiing or snowboarding in the pristine, powdery snow at Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge and many other top-ranked, world-class ski resorts. JWU (the host university) is the world's largest food service educator and leading educator of students studying hospitality programs.

Courses:
Semi-Intensive English Program (year-round), Intensive English Program (year-round), Super-Intensive or English for Executives - private instruction (year-round).
ELS uses the proven communicative approach to language learning. This appropach makes for lively, interactive classes where students engage in a wide range of activities. Classes are held Mondays through Fridays during the daytime. The Intensive English Program (30 lessons per week) is a complete English program with classes including: Structure/Speaking Practice, Reading/Writing, Electives (including Conversation) and Multi-Media Lab. Our Semi-Intensive English Program (20 lessons per week) provides students with the opportunity to improve their English skills while exploring cities in the USA. The Semi-Intensive Program (morning only) classes include: Structure/Speaking Practice, Conversation, Electives and/or Multi-Media Lab. Electives vary by location but usually include TOEFL Preparation, American Idioms, Pronunciation, and others. [Note: 2 and 3 week abreviated study option also available upon request.] This location also offers private and combination private/group instruction through our Special Programs division. The Super-Intensive English Program is fully customized one-on-one instruction for 1 or more weeks (20, 30, 45 or other hours per week. The English for Executives Program combines 15 hours of group instruction with 15 hours of private customized instruction per week (30 lessons total per week) and is offered for 2 or more weeks.

On-campus dormitory is available to ELS students and features typical shared double or triple rooms with hallway bathrooms. Each room offers free local telephone and Internet access. No meals included in the price but can be purchased in the campus cafeteria. Homestays feature single rooms living with an American family. Many homestays are within a short 5 to 15 minutes from the ELS Center by foot, bike or bus. Students are responsible for their own transportation. Daily breakfast and dinner is included, with lunches also included on weekends.

Possible activities:  Cowboy rodeos; Professional sports games; Weekend trips to Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak, the Grand Canyon and/or Rocky Mountain National Park.
Denver's cosmopolitan environment offers a variety of cultural and nightlife attractions. Its ideal location within the Rocky Mountains provides numerous opportunities for year-round outdoor recreation.
