American College Dublin

American College Dublin was established in 1993 as a non-profit educational trust by Lynn University, Boca Raton, Florida, USA. Its objective is to provide quality international education for students from all over the world by combining the excellent traditions of the American and Irish educational systems. The College\\\'s mission is to help students benefit fully from their third level studies by providing a learning environment in which they can develop their intellectual, social and professional skills.

Dublin is a vibrant, young city with three universities, and many other fine third-level educational establishments. Ireland has a long prestigious tradition of education and one of the highest rates of participation in education in the world. Dublin has some special advantages for those seeking to learn english - Dubliners are friendly and love to talk, thus offering many opportunities to students to practise. Dublin also provides an ideal cultural environment for the study of English as Ireland has a strong literary tradition and Irish writers and musicians enjoy a world-wide reputation.

Extensive continuous assessment is used to ensure progress is maintained throughout. Class sizes are small which allows for greater interaction between students and lecturers. Students are encouraged to question and to discuss issues which leads to a more dynamic learning experience.

The College arranges accommodation with carefully chosen Irish host families. All students are accommodated on a single room basis. We ensure that no two students with the same mother tongue are placed in the same house. Our host families provide bed, breakfast and evening meal and light laundry facilities. We can also arrange accommodation in hotels, hostels and apartments. Students may avail of the International Hall of Residence which is located at Lower Mount Street (3 minute walk from the college). Accommodation is offered in single, twin or triple rooms. Breakfast and an evening meal are served in the dining room. A gymnasium, TV room, computer room and study room are also available and 24-hour security is provided.
