The SCUOLA LEONARDO DA VINCI was founded in 1977 and is located in the centres of Florence, Milan, Rome and Siena. It ranks among the best known language Institutes in Italy. We are the founders of the Accademia Italiana di Lingua (AIL), promoting the first Diploma of modern Italian language, the "Diploma di lingua italiana Firenze". We are also founder member of ASILS (Association of language schools of Italian as a foreign language) which monitors and guarantees the quality of the associated member schools. The Scuola Leonardo da Vinci is situated in a beautiful historical palazzo with a magnificent view of the Cathedral in the heart of downtown Florence, only a few minutes walk from the most famous sights.

We offer courses at any level of Italian, from beginners to advanced. Flexible starting dates: every 2 weeks, including beginners’ courses (!). A maximum of 12 students per group for all standard and intensive Italian language courses. Our language courses always take place regardless of numbers of participants.

One of the free services offered by our schools is finding suitable accommodation for our students. Accommodation is regularly checked by our schools. You can choose from one of the following possibilities: Single or double room in a family with breakfast; Single or double room in a family with half board; Single or double room in an apartment; usually with bath and kitchen shared with other students; Upon request, we can also arrange rooms in Hotels of all categories as well as independent flats, mini apartments, residences and boarding houses.

Activities

Regular activities:  Dinners, which enable teachers and students to get to know each other better; Guided visits in History of Art; Film evenings at school; Day and half-day excursions; Visit to wine cellars.
Possible activities:  Day excursion to Siena and San Gimignano or Pisa and Lucca etc.; every 4 weeks, normally the first Saturday after a month course begins (at cost price). Half-day excursion to the vineyards of the "Chianti" area, visit to a winery incl."merenda" (typical Tuscan afternoon snack); every 4 weeks, normally the third week after a month course begins (at cost price). Dinners with the school in a typical Florentine trattoria: students and teachers have a good chance to get to know each other; every 2 weeks, the 2nd day of the course after a 2 weeks course begins (at cost price). Free guided History of Art tours in Florence: every second and third Saturday after a month course begins. One or two guided museum visits the month (at cost price).
During your stay you may wish to practise your favourite sport or learn a new one. You have the following opportunities: gymnastics/fitness/yoga, swimming, jogging, tennis, squash, golf, horse-riding, biking and so on. Our guides for all athletic activities will help you organise your free time. The cities and their surroundings offer a nearly unlimited variety of leisure activities, which you might undertake on your own.
